Ramey Expands Win Total to Five

SWEET SPRINGS, Mo. – With his machine’s nose wing firmly attached on Saturday after a catastrophe the previous weekend, Gunner Ramey’s 2015 season became even more remarkable. Powering from the 11th starting position in Sweet Springs Motorsports Complex’s restrictor main event, the Sedalia, Mo. native put on a clinic en route to his fifth winning effort of the season.
With 14 restrictor class competitors in action, two heat races would be held. Starting outside row two in the second heat, Ramey put two additional competitors behind him to finish in the second spot.
The full invert put him in 11th for the start of the 25-lap feature. With point leader Luke Howard to his outside, Ramey swiftly moved into sixth while putting a car between he and Howard on the opening circuit. By the first caution with six laps in the books, Ramey had already attained the fourth spot, and advanced one more for the restart. In just two more laps, the Impact Signs No. 28 Pace Chassis rocketed into the top spot. Howard, however, would not go away without a fight. Following the final caution period with 11 laps remaining, Howard made attempts for a pass, but Ramey’s machine proved too strong, pulling away and cashing in for win number five.

Ramey is next scheduled to compete on August 1 at Sweet Springs Motorsports Complex in Sweet Springs, Mo. in the No. 28 600cc micro sprint entry.
