Goodno doubles up at Sweet Springs

By Chris Hale (Sweet Springs, MO) -- After losing the entire month of May to Mother Nature, Sweet Springs Motorsports Complex got off to a great start with the Community Bank of Marshall sponsoring (what turned out to be)opening night. With over 100 entries and a good crowd, Riley Goodno of Knoxville Iowa got the season off to a great start by winning both the Winged Outlaw and Winged Stock classes.

In the Winged Outlaw class, Goodno got out front and ran off and hid. He missed a great race for second between Tyler Rennison and Garrett Hulsey. Rennison got second and Hulsey got third.

In the Winged Stock class, Goodno was in a class of his own. Stock class rookie Keegan Brewer put on a great show racing veteran driver Chase Porter for second. Brewer was second and Porter third.

Tyler Devenport and Garrett Benson battled all race long in the Restrictor class with Devenport getting the win and Benson second. Sophie Frazier rounded out the podium.

Nathan Brookshier and Chase Porter raced side-by-side in the Non Wing class with Brookshier getting a popular win. Porter was second with Quinton Benson coming home third.

In the Junior class, Jack Thomas and Peyton White came together while racing for the lead. This allowed third place Natalie Doney to take the top spot and the win. Thomas came back to take second with Levi Hinck getting third.

Jarmey Martin raced with Vince Williams for several laps before getting by him for the win in the Sportsman class. Marcus Mendez was third.
